About
Welcome to Scout
Whether you’re heading out for a thirty-minute walk on your favorite local trail or planning a day exploring somewhere entirely new, we’re honored to be part of your journey.
Every trail has a story.
Every hike teaches us something.
And every step is an opportunity to discover the beauty waiting just beyond the next bend.
Welcome to Scout.

How It Began
A family member told me about her afternoon hiking and seeing a bear about 100 feet away. I wondered if there was a way to know it beforehand, and now there is Scout Earth.
Long before there were maps, GPS, or smartphones, people found their way through forests, mountains, deserts, and coastlines by paying attention to the land, stars, seasons, weather, and the life around them.
That connection still matters.
Nature has a remarkable ability to quiet the mind, restore perspective, and remind us that we are part of something much larger than ourselves.
Scout was created to help people experience more of those moments.
Not by replacing the experience with technology, but by allowing technology to quietly support it.
Our Philosophy
At the heart of Scout is a simple philosophy:
Technology should deepen our relationship with nature—not distract us from it.
We believe the best technology becomes almost invisible.
It should reduce uncertainty without replacing curiosity.
It should provide awareness without demanding attention.
It should help us feel more present, not less.
The trail is the destination.
Scout simply walks beside you.

Scout Reasoning
Artificial intelligence has extraordinary potential. Its greatest value will never replace human experience; it can enhance it. It gives us the chance to notice more and wonder deeper.
The world is alive, and every part of our journey is calling us to know it. A bird we may have overlooked. A historic trail beneath our feet. A changing landscape. A safer route. A hidden viewpoint.
Scout was designed with technology for working better in the future. Scout is learning alongside the living world. As trails evolve, so does Scout’s knowledge. Spatial memory, cognitive thinking, and reasoning are a natural part of Scout Earth and Scout Atlas.
Rather than treating information as static, Scout continually refines what it knows so hikers always benefit from a richer understanding of the places they explore.
Scout wasn’t created only for epic expeditions. It was built for people who love hiking as part of everyday life. A peaceful walk before work. An afternoon exploring a favorite trail. A weekend adventure with family. An hour spent alone among trees.
These are the moments that quietly shape our lives. Scout was designed to support them.
More Than Finding Trails
Most apps answer: “Where can I hike?”
Scout hopes to answer a different question:
“How can this place enrich my life today?”
Sometimes the answer is exercise. Sometimes it’s solitude. Sometimes it’s sharing a beautiful trail with someone you love. Sometimes it’s simply taking a deep breath beneath a canopy of trees.
Every hike is different. Every person is different.
Scout exists to help each journey become a little more meaningful.

Looking Toward the Future
We’re just getting started.
Our vision extends beyond maps and navigation toward creating the first globally canonical hiking knowledge database that lives deeper than what is known.
Across seven continents, with 2.3 billion environmental knowledge records and over 12 million certified trail miles. A living, environmental reasoning data graph for the planet.
As Scout Atlas continues to grow, Scout will become an increasingly thoughtful companion helping hikers discover new places, better understand the natural world, and explore with greater confidence wherever their journey leads.
